St. Augustine founded

On September 8th, 1565 Spanish explorers founded St. Augustine, Florida, the first permanent European settlement in the New World. Ponce De Leon was in search for the fountain of youth and landed upon St. Augustine.

A lot of history came through this city. Epic battles between the French and the Spanish over the colonies in Florida.
