How on earth do they manage to reconcile the teachings of a man like Jesus with their own beliefs?

That's the whole situation with these 'cults' - they will believe what they want to believe and associate whatever they want to associate with them.

So just because a lot of people believe it makes it ok? After all only have to replace the term christian with any other belief/cause and can use the same argument to justify pretty much anything.
