I'm being confrontational? I've been defending myself almost form the beginning. Lee isn't the man people think he is. I can't help that it offends people who think he is Christlike. Even the biggest Lee love should admit this isn't true. But many won't.
It isn't confrontational to admit this.

Apology accepted, now go read some books, journal articles, and primary sources and then come back when you are ready to discuss history instead of fantasyland.
How on earth is it fantasy land to ask people for information concerning Lee and whether or not it is true? Saying he had impeccable character would be fantasyland. Unless you call a married man asking a married woman if her orgasims were like "firecrackers"? It's all relative I guess.

Why don't you start sourcing your ridiculous claims and someone (not me, cause i know you're a troll) might take you seriously. Start with the stupid firecracker comment.

Yankee, you don't have to think Lee is "Christlike" to realize that the person you're getting your information from is an agenda-driven nincompoop. Anyone who knows the first thing about Lee, whether they like him or not, will instantly recognize that.

It's clear you DON'T know the first thing about Lee, and that you have no desire to. You've already made up your mind that he's a "sinner", and now you're out to punish him for it.

I realize he has an agenda, which is why i didn't take it at face value.
I admit I don't know much about Lee. Can we move past that? I'm hear to learn.
I'm out to punish him? By researching if these things are true or not? Oh the horrors! How dare I find out if things are true so I don't repeat detraction.

Knew that was coming. But hey at least you're sourcing now! That's a start!! What is failed to mention in that article and I bet in Pryor's book (I have not read it because her stuff is garbage just like Faust's) is that his wife read this letter before he sent it.

You are basing this statement on what "facts?" I haven't seen anything from you except some eroneous information from a dubious website.

Robert E. Lee from the little I know about him was just a man. He had warts and failings just like all of us. No one here thinks he is Christ. No one here has ever said anything like that.

It isn't our job to verify or deny the accusations made by that sad blogger, it is yours to verify them if you intend to hold them up to prove your "agenda" that Lee was not a good person.

Give us some facts as to why we are wrong in our impressions of Robert E. Lee (and not from some website or the internet). You've already been told that everything he said was wrong. Why do you still feel Robert E. Lee was a bad person? You don't want to seem to let go of that idea which is why people accuse you of having an agenda. When your facts are proven incorrect, you hold to your original statement that Lee is bad.

If you want to debate Robert E. Lee, bring us some facts and your sources to prove your thesis.

What haven't I sourced? I don't care if his wife read the letter first. It's gross and it isn't Christlike or gentlemanly in the least.

No, I'm not. As I have already stated numerous times I don't know that the stuff on that site is accurate. I am basing it on a number of other things and facts.

I am aware he is just a man. People here might not think he is Christlike, but such people do exist.

I didn't say it was your job. This is a forum and I am here asking. Nobody is forcinhg you to participate. But this type of questioning is allowed.

I am not here to prove my opinion. Stop saying that i presented these things as facts. Could you TRY to be objective.

Last time, I'm not here to debate. I'm here to seek help.

Obviously it wasn't either if the meaning did not offend... I just don't get where you are going with this.
