Apparently it is imaginary because you have not sourced it.

Get over your rejection of Lee and become a real historian dealing in facts.
Like I said, I may have missed a post on an answer- what with all the off-topic posting. But I have not rejected anything.

I don't have to get over my rejection of Lee. And I am trying to get serious about Lee's history. I figured coming to a history forum and asking questions was a decent start. I didn't realize I'd have to be insulted to get any answer.

Seriously, can we move past this? It's tired. I understand that you don't like that I don't like Lee. That you don't think I posed my question in a suitable manner. That you don't think I'm smart enough or an erudite on the subject of Lee. I've got it. can we discuss Lee. You can't possible find this fun. I know I find it annoying to be accused of rejecting answers when that is not true.

This doesn't even make sense. I can have a valid opinion without sharing it or the reasons. How old are you?

Ok, But I wasn't talking about you. So actually the answer was nope. I can't believe I am having this conversation.

Speaking of Lee and slaves, how come he is not listed in the 1860 Federal Census slave schedules as owing slaves?

Not on a historical forum you can't, at least not on a credible one. Its called historical research. Once again you are interested in fantasy. You provide an opinion and then you back it up. If you can't back it up, you're just blowing smoke like all of those stupid websites you've been reading. But as I said you are basically a troll and do not want to learn anything. If you did you would have a real historical discussion but apparently you can't. I for one find it very entertaining.

It is my understanding that Lee only handled the will of his father-in-law, which meant he freed the slaves per the wishes of the will. They were not his slaves and he did indeed free them by 1862. He did not own slaves to my knowledge.

So why did he have so many light skinned slave girls and what was he fighting for then? LOL !
