Grant was certainly correct about the railroad, and prophesied accurately. Sheridan too was astute about the buffalo herds, cruel and austere as it was.

nice post. It shows just what idiot sherman was his idea was no different than the ethnic cleansing in the balkans or rawanda. I would have loved to see him go against Lee early in the civil war and watch him get his head handed to him. The Indians would have done just that if there had been more of them
