C-Span did a series on defeated presidential candidates called "The Contenders," beginning with Henry Clay and ending with Ross Perot. They aired the Goldwater special this past Sunday.

Clay, Debs, and Bryan are my top three. La Follette is my 'honorable mention', though his presidential campaign comprised only a small part of his legacy.
