This is somewhat tangential since we are discussing people's heritage, real or not. I've heard and read somewhat convincing arguments that Eisenhower and Woodrow Wilson had Black ancestors. Anyone else hear this? I saw a picture of Eisenhower's grandmother( or g-grandmother). She looked pretty Black to me.

So then you have never actually seen an Elmer Fudd cartoon before, have you? I guess it could be worse though, listening to Montgomery makes me think he just sashayed from the Castro.

In Edgar Hoover's biographer mentions Hoover's black heritage on maternal side. At that time, there was a term, "passed", used to describe families who had some black heritage but "passed" as whites.

Regarding Lincoln. He was not Jewish. I do not think that his sexuality is, really, important. Even if he had homosexual tendencies, how did it change the course of history? Who he slept with and in what manner was strictly his own business.

Re. his appearance - according to a certain theory, he had Marfan's syndrome, and he does look Marfanoid to me. There are many articles trying to prove Lincoln had Asperger traits. It can not explain the tone of his voice, but some people with this syndrome have unusual prosody (manner of speaking). Incidentally, there are many outstanding people with Marfan syndrome and with Asperger's. I also read that Tom Hanks is related to Lincoln.

Just for fun - Googled "Tom Hanks gay". Found two links. Not too much, but still. Apparently, there is "gay-o-meter" for every person! With the world full of wars, hunger, suffering, there are lunatics measuring "gayness" of every famous person...

To be fair the (uninteresting) OT question was settled with decisive conviction on the first page, it is the (interesting) derailment which made it go on for so long.

I haven't delved much into Abe Lincoln's biography beyond that which one learns in grade school. But the very name "Lincoln" points to Lincolnshire, England (east central coast). Who lived there? Dano-Anglo-Saxons basically, with a later Norman overlay.

While were at it, Lincoln suffered from debilitating depressions and sometimes disappeared from the White House for days at a time, sans bodyguards. You have to wonder whether the guy was arguably was our greatest president would have stood a chance at getting elected today once his birth records, medical records, lack of education, and everything he ever said and did as well as his wife's mental problems was exposed in the media.
