This is of course incorrect as individuals from the American South would vote for Lincoln, and some people of the English persuasion might vote for Washington.

I actually wanted to put them on there, but I couldn't for lack of space. I thought it was fair therefore to not include anyone on Mt. Rushmore. However, Clinton, Bush Jr. and Obama all got taken off, so if I could edit the polls and add on those four, then I would

I'm shocked no one voted for Coolidge and only one voted for Harding. Even though Hoover gets all the blame for the Depression, Harding and Coolidge were much more at fault. They were really the ones who established the idea that the government should let private business handle every single aspect of the economy. How was Hoover supposed to act during the Great Depression, even if he wanted to, if he had to answer to a Republican Party which thought noble businessmen would magically pool together non existent sources of money to reinvest in the economy? Coolidge just sat back and did nothing as president, even as the economy was growing at a far too rapid pace.

And all the people mistakenly voting for George H.W. Bush thinking he was George W. Bush, please read a book. He sucked, but there's a good 3 or 4 other presidents who undoubtedly are worse than him. Hell, in the last 50 years we've had worse presidents.

Which leads me to my next point, only 4 votes for Carter? Hands down he was the most naive and unqualified man ever to hold the office. Giving away the Panama Canal? The American Malaise speech? Turning renewable energy into a joke? The Iran hostage rescue? The list goes on and on and on.

In the end I voted for Buchanan. He was voted in as president of the United States, but acted more like president of the Confederacy. Buchanan wasn't just ignorant of secession, he actively supported it by doing NOTHING.

I was not thinking I was voting for Bush Jr. I knew I was voting for Bush senior. And I did it believing that he was the worst, or one of the worst. Nothing ever said here has changed my mind. (I actually think Jr. was worse)

Glad to see Jefferson was left off, but surprised Garfield (not even one year) and W.H. Harrison (a month) were on there.

I also thought about taking them off, but then I decided that people might vote for them because they died, which they might have seen as irresponsible.

Also, there has been lots of talk about why some people are not on there, and why some people are. I would like to remind everyone that that is not what this thread is about. If you wanted to vote for Lincoln, than please say so, and say why you think so. In this way we can have a good discussion about who was the worst president of the united states
