WWII: America fights only Japan

What if the United States had decided to only fight the Japanese after Pearl Harbor, and had not fought in Europe and Africa as well? After all, we weren't attacked by the Germans, but yet we were also at war with them as well. I have always wonder what the outcome of WWII would have been if we had only fought the Japanese.

Western Europe would have fallen to the Soviets. Countries like France, Sweden and England would be like Hungary, East Germany, and Poland in the Cold War era.

Germany declared war on the USA after Pearl Harbour. Would the USA have just ignored it?

The US might have ignored it assuming Germany never actually attacked us.

They would have. If the United States never got ahold of a little telegram from Germany to Mexico (Forget the name... >.<) then Mexico would attack, and Germany would have helped defeat the US. But the US recieved it as well, and Mexico was to scared to attack.

I believe you are reffering to the Zimmerman Telegram. That was during WWI. And yes it kept mexico from attacking us during that war.

Mexico wouldn't stand a chance fighting the US... they couldn't even beat Texas by itself decades earlier.

If we forget that U.S. have interest to win Great Britain the war, then i can say that without the US help the british alone could NOT make anything then to defend, so no D-day, no victory in Europe for the Allies, Germany would fight only in one front (simply in west watching and sieging Great Britain) then we should have a stalemate in the eastern front and fights for many more years, till the death either of Hitler or Stalin, probably West Europe will german and East Russian.

The US would have island hoped to the Japanese home Islands much faster than it did in the real world, they may have even invaded. Germany would have continued to fight the Russians, they would have taken most of Africa away from the English. I donít know who would have won between Russia and Germany but it's safe to say it would have been very bloody. The US, after defeating Japan may have decided to take out Germany then, but it would have prolonged the war For a few more years I think.
