I've always been facinated by Colonial America, everything Colonial America, but it seems most of the books I have are mainly about the Revolution.
Are there good books/websites out there about the colonial life and social structures? What are some of the best ones?
I know, I won't be able to avoid topics about the Revolution because it happened there and was a big turning point, I just want to read books that doesn't focus as much on that, but focuses on life in Colonial America.
EDIT: I already have "A Writer's Guide to Colonial America", and it does give me some of the basics of what life is like there, but it's more of a reference book.

H. L. Osgood, The American Colonies in the Seventeenth Century.
and:
E. B. Greene, Provincial America, 1690-1740.
Both are old academic books, but may be available in a library.
War and revolution sells books, so don't look for much colonial history in a bookstore.

books about the french and indian war, books at your local bureau of history, etc. They aren't hard to find.

Well, if you're willing to read about Virginia in colonial times, I would strongly recommend Edmund Morgan, American Slavery, American Freedom. Amazingly good study.
