It is amazing that many people argue about who discover the Americas, transoceanic contact and many weird things, and at the same time it is quite obvious they have NO IDEA about the Americas, its people and its history.
So, let's start from the beginning. And because the U.S. is so famous, asking questions about it wouldn't be fair. So, the next is about everything... with the exception of contemporary U.S.
Everything in 20 questions...
(1) How many Formula One race champions have had Latin America?
(2) How many people live in the Americas?
(3) Which are the tree more spoken languages in the Americas?
(4) What is the average income per capita in the Americas and how it compares with the rest of the world?
(5) Which was the city known as the Athens of Ancient Mexico?
(6) Which is the oldest civilization in the Western Hemisphere and when was created?
(7) Who were the two world chess champions of the Americas and from which countries are they?
(8) Who is the most outstanding astronaut of Latin America?
(9) Where was the ballpen first patented and commercialized?
(10) Which was the first independent country in the Americas after the U.S.?
(11) What is "mate"? (not an english word)
(12) Carlos Gardel was a famous singer of old times. Where was he born?
(13) Which countries have launched rockets from the Americas?
(14) What is Pachamama?
(15) Name two worldwide famous Argentinean cartoons.
(16) What the heck is "Cantinflas"
(17) Name five cities of Latin America that has subways
(18) Where was platinum discovered?
(19) Name a Canadian inventor that make a key advancement in radio.
(20) Name a Brazilian manufacturer of airplanes.

(Well, in Rio, it's said "motch", in south of Brasil, something like "mah-tay", but mate in English is a girl! )

I should quoted it... You are right. I missed. Funny.
But you are Brazilian, so it is cheating. I bet you will know most of the F1 car racing champions; perhaps missing the one that's not Brazilian.

I'm not cheating ... I'd be if I answered all the questions
I only gave a little taste to #11 ...
You gave good questions. Brasilian are a bit self-centric, like Uessans; we know more about Brasil than about the rest of the America, so it's a good call to me too.

People usually learn history which interest's them.
Many people in the forum, fancy the history of the Roman empire, others like Alexander, some folks like the history of Greece, and other users are interested in WW2.
You can't expect anybody to be interested and to know anything about South Amerca. Here take me for example, i can't answer most of the questions you asked, my knowage in South American history is limited, but i can ask you at that moment do you know any Balkans history?
I can ask you some questions about Balkan history (combined), which im sure you wont be able to answer, but thats normal, you cant have anybody knowing the history of South America.
But dont get me wrong, im not against you making such threads, like that one. Such threads are needed, and very informative, i surly enjoy reading them.
By the way, i dont know anything about U.S history, so dont think U.S history is so popular. Maybe you will eventually find out that i never participated in threads about the Civil war, about U.S president, etc.

Of course. But I accept I don't know much about Balkans' history, no matter I am willing to learn, and I don't think a flying saucer introduced Cyrilic script on the region.
I just try to show how little is known about my region by people that believe they know better.

I know Pedro knows the answers. They are quite easy for most educated people of Latin America. For people of the rest of the world would be tougher, I guess.
