Our main (in the UK) desecrated site is Stonehenge. A main road, the A303 runs about 400 metres away and the viewing facilities are appalling. Some of the stones have had graffiti scratched/painted on them and perennial plan for a tunnel for the road, past the site is in permanent abeyance.
Started about 3000BC, you would think that the country would be proud of its history, ours , too busy to listen!!

Do you mean the station? The battlefield isn't actually in England.

It's so sad to see History being plucked from it's roots simply for idiotic things like Casinos to fill it's place, sadly this plague is spread through-out the world.

The Lia Fáil / Stone of Destiny was randomly vandalised a few months ago by an oaf with a chisel. This stone was an essential element in the crowning of Kings of Ireland and even Scotland, so much so that a fake of the Lia Fáil sits under the medieval throne of England, which we still have today. It is 2000 years old at the least, and provides a tangible link with the remote past, and their visions of sovereignty. The stone was said to "shout" when the rightful King would touch it.
