I remember reading a while back that Attila the Hun was a midget; allegedly he was so short he needed help getting on his horse. Has anybody else heard this before? Is there any truth at all to this tradition?

However, my tongue was firmly planted in cheek on this one.

Is there any truth at all to this tradition? | No, but there was a midget at his court, Zerco, which is probably in all likeliness the source of these rumours. Zerco was a favourite of Bleda, he was of North-African descendance and spoke a perculiar mix of latin, gothic en hunnic. So there is no real truth to those accusations.

Short people in the military have an advantage tho. You never think that the x,y,z short general is capable of the things he does. Woahh! So I guess moar short people in the military is a good thing? Just for the surprise factor

Short people are also less likely to be hit by an arrow, a bullet or a fragment. They also take less food to keep functioning. The age of the midget warrior has begun! Hiho Hiho!

Man, once I caught a gander at this thread's title I just had to check it out...
I look forward to some of the more "authoratative" responses to this one -- they ought to be real doozies.
