Critical biography of Alexander?

Can anyone suggest a good, critical biography of Alexander (and history of Macedon in this period), as opposed to the standard hagiography?

I think any biography of Alexander has to be critical in some form, becaiuse of the fact he seems to have been a bloodthirsty and mad megalomaniac and deeds don't lie.

But that is what drove him and made him 'Great'
