It's really quite smal and light.

These ornaments had several uses, they served as the heads of staffs, some were buried in the corners of building foundations, they have been found placed in burial tombs and cereomonial cashes.

Smile mayan jade or aztec?


Hi guys, you sure know allot more about this subject than I do.l
the wooden box is old and looks handcrafted to me. My idea is a wood worker
made it for his lady or to sell. can someone tell me if its mayan or aztez.?

I admit it has a vague Mayan 'look' but it doesn't look authentic to me, no expert at all. I'm guessing it's just an art piece. The center 'Glyph-like 'object is worth a search, here is a catalogue of Mayan Glyphs:
