I have every reason to believe that the Kalash people are looking for publicity. In order to achieve that, they claim to be Macedonian offspring. The case is tenuous...

I agree with the above research. Such presence of blonde hair, blue eyes can be found throughout Central Asia. One person claimed it was as high as 10% in Tajikistan (blue/coloured eyes). And the Kalash rarely mixed with anyone outside. It is only now with the recent globalization and development of roads and railway that people are gaining access to them. In the 70s during the Zia era there numbers had gone down to 1000 due to missionaries but thankfully the subsequent Pakistani governments have protected them and their numbers have grown 6 times now to 6000 and growing.

Apparently Alexanders actions in N.Pakistan werent that honourable or great. Diodurus and Plutarch both mention that he made a peace treaty or at least a temporary agreement with the Kambojas but then backstabbed them when they were leaving. "this rests as foul blot on his martial fame" (Plutarch) said of this.

Anyways Menander is one of the most famous Greek kings of Bactria and N. Pakistan
