My niece is going to join scientific police [C.S.I.] and one of their main concern is just contamination.

How were those mummies handled? In which circumstances? By whom? And so on ...

Can we exclude contamination?

No? So, what are we talking about?
There was some case where dna evidence started to turn up wacky stuff, so they investigated the investigation and found the dna swabs had picked up a workers dna during production of the swabs .

The relevant alkaloids, such as cocaine hydrochloride, cocaine sulfate, and cocaine nitrate, never existed in the Old World and were impossible to make using the available technology. The 17th century is the absolute earliest that these drugs could have been produced because this is the earliest time that the precursor chemicals were all available. It is possible that nicotine was present in ancient Egypt but not cocaine.
