I am currently bringing up the topic with him of a conprimised map that would show the Roman Empire as we know it, and then show the extand he wanted as a different shade of the colour or something of the effect, to show it as a possible further extand of the empire, since little is known about the true nature of the Roman presence there.

Can Someone provide as many sources as possible showing the Rome didn't actually control this massive region?

Bad news, maybe the Romans controlled the area.

First I thought that the
Limes_Arabicus Limes_Arabicus
could put the things in its place. Authors considered that Traian stablished the limes early, from Sirya to Red Sea JSTOR: Bulletin of the American Schools of Oriental Research, No. 247 (Summer, 1982), pp. 1-26

But, a well defined limes seem to be a late development, P.219 Harvard Studies in Classical Philology - G. P. Goold, Harvard University - Google Libros

Most of the Nabatean kingdom seem to be annexed in the 2th century though, because as south as Mada'in Saleh - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia , a Roman temple has been found. Furthermore, inscriptions were local populations acepted Roman governor authority and even legionnary inscriptions have been found

P. 90 and 97 Roman Arabia - Glen Warren Bowersock - Google Libros

And http://www.saudiaramcoworld.com/issu...od.fortune.htm

I don't know if the full Nabatean kingdom was annexed to the east, but the south is true

The link above shows you the new map he is trying to use, please comment, and if you also find it off, please go and discuss it on the talk page
