Hi All,
I'm new to the forums and came in the hopes of discussing history and also to hopefully learn of a book that contains the complete history or Rome.
What I've seen while searching the net / amazon is: "The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire" by Edward Gibbon. However, this seems to be the fall of the empire, the story of it's end, and why - or am I mistaken?
I suppose what I'm looking for is the very beginning, how it formed, who formed it, and the timeline and story of each leader throughout history until it's very end - or does this even exist?
I appreciate any information you can all offer me!
Jason

If you know Carl Grimberg "A World History", explains in 2 volumes quite everything you need to know about Ancient Rome, from beginning to end.
Else, there's plenty of books explaining it all, though try someone else than Amazone

Thank you for your response.
However, I cannot find this book anywhere - is this the correct title?
Also, where do you suggest purchasing books besides Amazon, then?
Thanks!

Thanks! | First - Carl Grimberg - Search for him.
Else, look in so many other pages. Just search for online book shopping. Else Ebay.
Else there´s the "Encyclopedia Of The Roman Empire"

I found one for $4.00 USD in the U.K. - even paying $20 for the shipping will make this a great bargain - I can't seem to find it anywhere else for less than $60 USD.
Can't wait.

Gibbon's Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire is an excellent book. Gibbon is, in my mind, one of the greatest historians. Well, aside from Herodotus.

Michael Grant's "History of Rome". A bit less scholarly & more popularized, & therefore more readable. If that helps you in your quest.
