Those are some of the crosses: http://lubimo.com/Croce1.JPG http://lubimo.com/croce2.JPG
And those are the vaults: http://lubimo.com/Vaults.jpg
In the vault there are skeletons. But in the room with the crosses there are no skeletons, any bones, or else. And that is why I think that this room was some kind of pass through the vaults.
I don't think that the crosses are Templar's, because my information is that those vaults are from 4-5 century after Cr. The Templar are many years after that.
The crosses are very preserved.

Sometimes the Templars would use older vaults as meeting-places. In Royston they secretly met in a cave beneath the town that remained undiscovered until the 19th century. They also built a network of secret tunnels beneath Hertford. http://www.roystoncave.co.uk/

I would also be inclined towards the Templars, if it wasn't for those dots at the end of each arm. No Templar cross or variation thereof that I've ever come across has those dots.

Were the Templers ever reported to have been in that part of the world? I'm not up on this subject at all, that is why I ask.
Could have been some Christian underground movement due to some form of persecution?

But I'm trying to find something more about the people that used those crosses, because those crosses are used in early Christianity

I have to go with Belisarius and Lucius. My gut say there is something askew here. It's the dots that throw me. They don't fit into any iconography I know of or can even make up. Someone contemporary with the original adding a little decoration? Who knows.

Sorry it took so long to get back to this. I saw the first one and flipped. It's similar to iconography found in isolated spots all over Europe. I've never seen a really reliable dating for it, but it's early Christian. 7th or 8th cent. No later.
I had a hard time finding an easily recognizable pic. This might blow you away, but this cross is on an island off the coast of Ireland, near Sligo.

Yes, it's really look close to the searching cross but this is a square cross. The points are in the middle and it has crosses between the shoulders.
I saw this cross in the heraldic of the Templates.
I do appreciate your efforts! Thank you!

The proportions are identical with the Lubimo cross. The "dots" are now translated to circular depressions, 8 of them.
Yes it has additional crosses, but your not going to find anything matching exactly in that era. Individual sects had their own ideas.

Is there a way you can send me this picture? I want to examine the number of dots around the cross...I would also say this is representative of the Templars...agreeing with Nick about them using old caverns and the like as meeting places. However, I would like to know more about the archeological site that is in the final picture that you show. Can you send anymore information to me about this site/find? jerryserrano2004@yahoo.com
