key events between 1000 BC to 1 BC

Hi All,

I am doing a series of educational videos about most important events between 1000 BC to 1 BC

and my choices are :

1- Tiglath pileser III becoming king of Assyria

2- Cyrus the great winnning his battle againt invading Media army.

3- Philip II becoming king of Mecedonia.

4- assasination of Julius Caesar.

I chose those events as they caused majour changes in the following centuries.

what are you choices and why ?

Alexander the Great would not have been so great without his father, also the Hellenization of the middle east had some far reaching influence.

I think the path of the Roman Empire was pretty much carved/imprinted and not many changes would have occurred in the early stages/years of its formation when it comes to the ruling of a certain Dictator or Emperor (Caesar or Augustus).
I think the stregth of the Roman Empire lied in it's strategic planning, military forces, its commanding generals and provinces.

Just off the top of my head I think I'd go with
(1) the founding of Rome
(2) the Battle of Salamis
(3) the return of the Jews from the Babylonian exile
(4) the Maccabean revolt
(5) the birth of Yeshua of Nazareth.

(3) and (4) I see as important in preserving Judaism. I think the reasons for the others are obvious.

(3) & (4) were important events to Jews at those times and present days but I would not think they had any influence on other nations in the following few centuries afterwards. My video are intended to take students through the history of civilization timeline.

I see the preservation of Judaism as important because (among other things) it made Jesus of Nazareth possible. Perhaps I'm overrating the importance of those two specific events, but I do think that Judaism was under extreme pressure at times.

Battle of Allia? The sack of Rome by the Gauls perhaps?
