what I'm talking about is an entire roman army with cavalry, legion, and archers vs the Greeks during the time of Alexander the great with his cavalry on both wings with the phalanx on the center and archers for skirmishers... now don't think an entire roman army could beat the army of Alexander, Alexander defeated Darius III in a fair way at Battle of Gaugamela where he used his companion cavalry to completely destroy the much superior cavalry of the Persians. As for the situation for Rome, during the Republic the legion was the best and during the empire where cavalry was widely used their army went into decline. what if you were to put legion and cavalry as well as archers against greek army what would happen? Now choose, Roman Army vs Greek Army???

Someone like Julius Caesar or Scipio would totally destroy Alexander. As shown during the Punic Wars a superior general doesn't guarantee victory: the army's equipment, training and resources are equally important.

nope many people even generals consider him the greatest military general of all time... do you think a roman cavalry could defeat alexander's companion cavalry??? now i know what your thinking the phalanx. the phalanx might be weak against a legion but the cavalry give it the strength of their army
