Sinatra talked in his songs, he hardly ever actually sang and had a limited range in voice. He became a senile

Elvis was to us kids growing up in the 1950s a revelation in a way Frank Sinatra never was. Sinatra was multi talented for sure but at the end of the day he was a highly accomplished crooner whereas Elvis was truly something else.

And Elvis was an addict who killed himself before he had the opportunity to "bumble" along in his dotage.

I guess the golden lining to that event was Elvis wasn't reduced
to an embarrassment on stage.

It's all about what generation you are. For me it was The Beatles

I completely disagree. Fat, haven't crapped for a week, drug addict Elvis was awful. Listen to the Hawaii concert. He's straining notes all over the place. It's awful.

I don't think you can really compare Elvis and Sinatra. Their not in the same genre. Therefore it's pretty subjective. If you want to compare Elvis or Sinatra I think you have to do it with someone in the same genre, who was attempting the same kind of music, and who was in the same time period.

Plus this thread has two different questions. Is it singer or performer? It's not the same thing. KISS puts on a great performance, maybe the best, but are they good singers? No.

Personally I like Sinatra and Elvis both.

I was only early teens when the Beatles arrived on the scene...and they were quite a bit older than me and they revered Elvis too.

I think I'm from the wrong generation to really appreciate either of them.
