Quite often used in England for people who have a plummy voice!

Ailurophile for a cat-lover (ailouros being the ancient Greek word for a cat, rather an attractive one I think). Napoleon of course was an ailurophobe.

There's an interesting type of word that's not exactly rare, but is only used in specific comparisons (often by people who don't know what it means). Who talks about gimlets, for instance, except in relation to gimlet eyes that bore through you?
