Steve Allen once had a show called "meeting of minds." 5 or 6 historic figures ( played by actors) would sit at a table moderated by Steve Allen and they would discuss. Once Attila and Emily Dickinson got into it. Emily had just read a poem of hers about a little robin. Attila stood up and shouted," You know what that robin just did? It ate a live worm. This world is covered in blood! And nothing is fair! Did that worm deserve to be eaten?" Anyway, I thought that the history channel might create a new " meeting of minds". The original was very popular and the cost? What does a few costumes cost?

Lol. That's a very good idea. About time we had a little change from all those incredibly droll documentaries about Rome's scandals, China's Great Wall and murder+bloodshed fiesta scenes...that's all they ever show on that channel.

Sounds good! Maybe they should make it like "Big Brother" and they occupy a house and we observe. It would be interesting to see who shares a bedroom with Caligula or Genghis Khan. And, would they let Lucrezia Borgia prepare a meal? I agree. I think it would be interesting and entertaining. I remember the old series "You are there" with Walter Cronkite. | | |

Hey, maybe The History Channel could do something like that. Let's all write them and suggest it. But be sure to insist on scholarliness.

Steve Allan, musician, comedian, short story writer, thinker and all around genius also the most under rated talent that ever lived. I remember the meeting of the minds show very well. I enjoyed it very much even though the time warp discomforted my sense of chronology. It would be fun and interesting to see it revived. Good idea...I am going to write the history channel today. I also remember Cronkite's You Are There series, an excellent teaching device. That one should be brought back also.
