Favourite Paintings - an intimate Historum gallery


I am not particularly educated in art, but I do enjoy resting my eyes on a painting or two and contemplate the emotions and thoughts they convey.
If any member has any suggestions on painting, any favourite pieces of art, it would be nice to share with the rest of us and help us discover them.


PS: I am sorry if such a thread already exists, but I searched and couldn't find any.

I love looking and exploring the School of Athens painted by Raphael during the later part of the Renaissance.

I normally don't like using wikipedia for anything, but they have some awesome pictures. Here is the link to the school of athens:

Oh, so many, many that even the website that has about 14 hundred works here doesnt' nearly begin to cover it...

One of my favorites, (There as so many!!) CITYSCAPE WITH WORDS
(palabra is spanish for word but you already knew that didn't you) -acrylic and collage- 36" x 24" painting by a contemporary Costa Rican.
