Hojo Masako: What do you think?

She was a shrewd military and political leader; she married with Minamoto no Yoritomo, while she directly caused the demise of the Minamoto clan.
What were the goals of Hojo Masako?
How did businesses got out of hands of Minamoto no Yoritomo?
Was Minamoto no Yoritomo a puppet of Hojo Masako?

Was Masako more interested about her own family rather than the fate of the Yoritomo clan?

I'm not at all an expert of the Heian period but wouldn't it be possible that much credit for all these things would go to Masako's father and brothers?

I don't think Yoritomo was a puppet. I tend to view them a bit like Augustus and Livia. The ruthless founder of their institutions wore the pants but as soon as they were dead the inlaws came to hijack their legacies.
