Ah! You mean only the light-skinned brahmins are proper brahmins. And then you say that people fornicate. If they do, then the light-skinned and dark-skinned classification does not survive. As per Mendel's law, the result of such a union can be light-skinned or dark-skinned. Who knows if my light-skin (or your's) is only a quirk of Mendel's law. And Maharshi Vedavyasa (dark-skinned, known as Krishna Dwaipayana) fathered Kauravas and Pandavas.
The proverb seems to be very out-dated. Say it in public and get five years in jail.

Original Vedic sages from whom Brahmins are supposed to descend from patriarchally, also included some non-Aryans.
