Portuguese on the Coromandel Coast


Could anyone please give more details about the Portuguese colonies in the Coromandel Coast ( The Easter Coast of India) ? I would be glad to know if there is any book about the History of Colonial Portuguese in the coromandel coast!

Thanks for suggesting the book! Could you please post links about the same topic! very little information is given about the Portuguese colonies in East coast of India

These are the churches built by the Portuguese but later taken over the British and there remains mot much information about the Portuguese in the Madras

Sure Thank you! But I want to know about the Portuguese Administration in the East coast and I want to whether Jesuits where present and established the Christianity in the coromendal coast!

It has been said that Saint Francis Xavier Baptized the Paravas people who where living along the Coromendal coast in the present day city of Manapad where he performed miracles and the caves is present where he prayed and lived! Other than this I have never heard about any Jesuit activity in the Coromendal coast
