Eastern Zhou definitely, if you don't know what I mean, read up! If you can't get enough, blame Qin Shi Huang for banning all the books.

If I were to choose a Dynasty to live in, it would be Tang or Song.

Period of the Three Kingdoms. I love Romance of the Three Kingdoms to death, even if its not entirely factual.
Without all the stories, then I would have to say Han Empire.
