In fact, the system of marriage in ancient China was a man and a wife with several concubines accurately, and it‘s the priority of the noble and the rich.I don't think
the populace have adquate money and capability to own a or more concubines.so i think the man who has concubines is a minority.

Polygamy, actually, has been banned in China since the Han Dynasty, however, Chinese culture has skirted this through the existence of concubines. The Republic of China also banned Polygamy but once again the concubine remained.
Polygamy has always existed in China. It just takes different forms. There are many Xiao taitai(small wife) in China. As Chinese men get richer this trend could increase. Polygamy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia | | |

Polygamy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia | Only if they stop killing female babies. Various articles I've read indicate there will be a severe shortage of females in the near future, resulting in increased kidnappings and rape. A man with two wives, or a wife and concubine, will likely set himself up for big trouble.

There are many cases of them being bought and sold. In the country if the young ones haven't moved to a city to work in a factory it is possible they have been stolen away to be some peasants wife in another part of China.

Jake, how long have you lived in Hong Kong?
Every one who has any money acquires a Chipse. The government banned the acquisition of OFFICIAL second wives in the 1970s in an attempt to stem the flow of bogus immigrant wives from the mainland. But the practice continues.
I had a great moment of humour when my Chinese PA commented on my European business partner's bit on the side--a tall, blonde Dutch girl who he stashed in a flat in Discovery Bay. His wife was also tall and blonde, but South African. Young Emily wanted to know why he had two the same and did not use the opportunity to have a bit of variety.
Not much different in Japan. A lot of guys refer to their "legal wife", meaning the official one.
