Question Israelis in India : Modern Times

India is no doubt an ancient land and has relations with people from all over the world. Israelis are one such people.

This thread is an attempt to take a look @ Israelis in modern India. Who they are, how many, what they did in Israel, why they are in India, and what are their future plans.

Personally, I think India should welcome people of all hues from all over the world. It would make us a more beautiful and vibrant nation.

In India the ex-soldiers live in small communal settings and hotels segregated from the Indian population, in locations, they identify as Kasol sin or crime city.

Another soldier hopes not to return Israel soon; he does not belong to that country any more and considers having an Israeli passport to be a problem since he feels more at home in India.

Don’t Target Jews in India ~

“We are Indian Jews. First Indians, and then Jews.” This is what the Jewish community living in Mumbai has to say, in spite of the 26/11 terror attack in which many Jews were ensnared in the eddy of violence.

“The terrorists killed our people because we are Indians, and not because we are Jewish. Even though one of their targets was the Chabad House, the terrorists also attacked non-Jews at Cafe Leopold, the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel and at CST,” states Solomon Sopher, president of the Baghdadi Jewish community.

I saw a TV programme several years ago that indicated that India was the destination of choice for Israelis who wished to avoid military service.
