Why is China hated by other Asians?

China was a great civilization. It was the father of Asian civilization. So why are they hated by other Asians such as the Japanese, Koreans, Vietnamese, Philippines, Indonesians, etc. Were their egos so small that they had to put the Chinese down because they learned from the best? Chinese people are massacred everywhere they go. I know the most common answer is that they're "Communists" but there were many Chinese massacres before Mao took control. Suggest reading Sinophobia on Wikipedia.org. Scroll down the article. It has a list of historical events of Chinese getting massacred.

I lived in the far east for almost a decade, China along with Japan and recently Korea are just about as hip as you can get.

You and I are Asian Americans. Asians don't hate each other here because we're a minority that is targeted by Western media. We're stereotyped together.

Take it from a world perspective. In Asia, Chinese people are hated.

Maybe you were living in a country that hated Chinese, I don't know which one it was, but I didn't find this in the majority of countries.

(To the OP) That's a bit of a sweeping statement right there.

Perhaps a better question would be, 'Why do people outside of Asia assume that all Asians automatically like eachother?'
People in Europe don't automatically like every other person from another European country and nor do Asians.
Perhaps it's that there are substantial populations of Chinese in most other Asian countries, apparently the worlds biggest China-town is in Yokohama, but correct me on that if I'm wrong.
The Japanese long held a point of view that everyone foreign was beneath them, the Chinese were much the same, I'm not sure if that still stands, I'd say that some in both countries still do.
China and Vietnam have had a long history of friction, occupation and war and so it goes on.
I'm not sure about other asian countries and their relations with China.

Suffice it to say, everyone hates everyone else in Asia....well a bit anyway.

I've never lived in a country that hated Chinese. However, I notice that people do by watching world news coverage.

Japan, South Korea, Mongolia and Vietnam are the countries that hate China the most. Japan and Chinese are traditional enemies since the 1st Sino-Japanese war. South Korea hates China because of the Korean War. Mongolia hates China because they are paranoid about losing its independence. Vietnam hates China because they were conquered and oppressed by China 4 times in history.

Japanese didn't have a view that everyone foreign was "beneath them". It was the Chinese that had that view. If the Japanese had that view how did they Westernize in the new world? Why would they send monks to China to learn from the Chinese? Contradictory. The Japanese view of foreigners being "beneath them" was a view that they adopted in World War 2.

It is hard to especially in the US because Asian Americans are close to each other.

However, through Youtube videos of coverage of China, I can see a lot of those that hate Chinese talking trash about China.
