Bitter end for South Korean presidents.

US Marshall D.A. MacAruther and South Korea's first president Rhee Seung Man. I hate his chicken head

But, Mr. Rhee and his party were delibrately manipulating votes, or the Election Fraud, against which high school and college students were in demonstration. The picture shows military police are arresting high school students.

By this revolution, Mr. Rhee had to pack up himself, and had to flee to his country (the United States of America), and he died in Hawai in 1965.
================================================== =========================

My opinion on him is so negative.
He could be elected only because U.S. wanted him to be a president.
He is a Dual nationality, one which Korea and the other U.S.
He even fled to U.S. aided by CIA when citizens showed massive demonstrations against him.

Though, in his era, he had to go through the Korean War and face very poor economy, he should be called a facist.
From the very beginning of the South Korea's history, they start with facists and disgraceful president, whom no South Koreans respect.

Pres. Park Chung Hee.
================================================== =======================
Click the image to open in full size.
After the Revolution of 419, some military generals wanted to change the world because the nation was in confusion and disbelief. Thus, some generals in military finally used their forces into downtown of Seoul, or the Coup'deta.

Do you see a guy wearing sunglass? If you see his hat, he has two star general. This picture was taken when he finally succeeded in the coup'deta.

But, he was elected as a president by popular votes. To some degree, his military charistma was appealing to citizens.

Park Chung Hee and J.F.Kenedy.

Park Chung Hee was obviously destroying the Constitution because he did the Coup'deta, but no body dare to criticize him because that doom the critics.

But, in his presidency, South Korea's economy had been dramatically improved. From GDP of Ethiopia, South Korea's gain 30 times increase in his presidency of 18 years.

He had good charistma and good leadership, but he was a facist and military dictator. But, the worst thing is fundamentally Pres. Park is a pro Japanese, even graduating imperialistic Japanese military academy.

In the military academy, he vowed his loyalty to the imperial Japanese emperor and thus swear to defend imperial Japan and its emperor with his death.
It is like Nazi military academy alumuni became the president of Poland.

His wife (I wouldn't call the first lady because he is a military facist) was assassinated by North Korean esponeage. And then, it is time for Mr. President to be assassinated.

A guy aiming gun is a KICA director, who assasinated this military facist.
He was demonstrating how he assasinated Mr. Park.
What a coincidenct!
KICA director, who was nominated by Mr. Park, killed the president(yes!!).

The KICA director was later convicted as the death penatly.

Some argues that behind the KICA, U.S. CIA was getting involved with this assasination because KICA dirctor met CIA director in US embassy in Seoul. It was in 1979 Winter.

At the time, Mr. Park was focusing on nuclear development whilst US did not allow South Korea to have nukes.
================================================== =======================

This military facist is not really bad ass guy since he developed and modernized South Korea's industry during his presidency through his charisma and leadership.

Before he was in the office, South Korea was more poor than North Korea. But after he died, South Koreans were confident they were living better place than North Korea.

In his era, Samsung, Hyundai, and L.G. were dramatically developing their own industry, and now they become what they are.

Though he was a dictator, ignoring citizens, human right abuses, and constitutions, he had good points overall.

His legacy.

Mr. Park opened the national high way from Seoul to Busan.

Behind Mr. Park, there are heavy industry complex, whilst behind Kim Il Sung, the North Korean leader, there are only military.

South Korea's one of the best industry is ship-making industry.
Unlike Toyota, Hyundai Heavy Industry is able to produce heavy ships as well as Samsung, not only making cell phones, but making ships too.

Human right abuses.
These guys are the protesters opposing the President Park.
Among them, there is the imcumvent president of Korea; Lee Myung Bak, the third one sitting from left.
Click the image to open in full size.
Can you find the guy in the old picture?
Those protesters were prosecuted by lots of charges just because they opposed the Pres. Park's policies.
(Probably, South Korea's presidents' common thing is they were all arrested and had to send time in prison).

I can't find any good picture for my post against Pres. Park.
But, just reminding you that

The picture shows Mr. Park, as a military general, destoryed the Constitution and built his own country through the Coup'deta.

Now that this military facist was assassinated, what?
People start to ask the democracy, not facism or dictaorship.

People gathered, but again, military started to meddle in this political situation as you can see tanks in this pic.

Chun Doo Hwan and No Tae Woo.
Chun Doo Hwan when the Pres. Park died was a chief general of military intelligence agency, whereas No Tae Woo was a general of 9th infantry near DMZ. They are both in same classmates in South Korea's military academy.
Both of them later became the Presidents of South Korea.

As a chief investigator of the Pres. Park's assassination,
he expanded his power. (In this pic, he is in press conference).
But, on the same time,

He deployed his classmates' forces into downtown of Seoul so that he could get the power and the president.

With his soldiers and his false evidence, Chun Doo Hwan later arrested his senior officer, or the Chief of the Joint Forces (who is secondary military top commander, following president in Korea).
Chun Doo Hwan argues that the chief of the Joint Forces was likely to get involved in the Pres. Park's assassination.

The chief of the Joint Forces was arrested by Chun Doo Hwan.

Finally, Chun Doo Hwan removed anyone who had a power to resist against him but for several lawmakers. Then, he was elected by the conference of the unification, which was, at the time, delegates in choosing president.

He was elected here (By the attendence in this gym) in 1980.
So we usually call him as "the president of the gym."

He finally became the president without any popular vote in 1980.

Chun Doo Hwan with R. Reagan.

His friend, No Tae Woo, who provided his troops in the coup'deta and arresting their senior officers, was later elected as the president of Korea in 1987. (This time, they changed the Constitution, but they took advantage of the opponent's divisions)
I.e. No Tae Woo=J. McCain, and other two presidential candidates are B. Obama and the other H. Clinton.
B. Obama and Clinton were not united to win the election, but they just individually went into the Presidential Election, by which No Tae Woo took advantage of.

They are cheering each others. But... (in 1987)

Both of them are now under arrest in 1997 for charge of National Treason (the coup'deta and arresting his senior officers and etc) and lots of other corruption reasons.
In this Supreme Court, Chun Doo Hwan was convicted as the death penalty whilst his friend, No Tae Woo, got his life time prisons, but both of them were later specially pardoned by at the time president.

This guy is my high school alumuni, or No Tae Woo.
His name would be Roh Tae Woo, but I would say No because I would say he is no president of South Korea.

If I had known he was a high school alumuni, I would have not gone to the high school.
