I actually thought they hated the mongols, becuase they wreaked havoc upon the Islamic World. And they were muslims themselfes ofc.

As far as Mughal & Hazara tribes of Pakistan are concerned, they feel proud to be Genghisid.

isn't Mughal and Mongol exactly the same word?
one is the turkic pronunciation(correction, infact it is the persian pronunciation), one is the mongolian pronunciation...
I'd be surprised if the Mughal rulers didn't consider this when they chose their titles.

I definitely agree on the Hazaras who are pure blood Mongols without Turkic admixture. I think Mughals prefer Timruid line than Genghisid one. To me only the Genghisids are real claimants of Mongolhood. Timurids had too much admixture.

Turkic Peoples of Turkey and Turkic Peoples of Mughals are somewhat similar. The first ottoman king was from uzbekistan.
