Ambrose Powell ('Little Powell') Hill, 1825 - 1865

Ambrose Powell Hill was born in Culpeper, Virginia, in November of 1825, and was named in honor of his uncle, a Virginian politician. In 1842 he received an appointment to West Point, but missed a year while on medical leave. Hill was sociable, fun-loving, and promiscuous, and had contracted a case of gonorrhea.
