King Leonidas of Sparta gets a lot of attention in history and movies like ‘300’ due to his heroic last stand at Thermopylae, one that most people think helped rally the Greek city-states against the Persian invasion of 480 B.C.

The World's Wealth & Income Database provides information on the wealth of different countries in constant 2016 euros having datasets of some countries like France going up to the early 19th century. It allows us to map the evolution of wealth available per capita among different countries.
