Hey guys,

Im pretty interested in Northern Europe (history, culture, religion, ect.) from the late Iron age to the late Viking age, and everything which might be interesting in that context.
I wanna do a blog post about it, but Im not really sure what the specific topic should be, so Im asking for suggestions/requests.
Please make them fit within the above area of interest, and please do not make them about some really dry, technical stuff (like the design of ploughs or similar).

Thanks in advance to any suggestions

Best Regards
~Niels

How about environmental aspects that led to the Viking expansion?

    Interesting topic.
Are you thinking primarily in terms of social or natural environmental aspects (not that they can be completely separated, its more about which one should be emphesized)?

how about the rumours from books like Oera Linda that the Magi migrated there , or the perpetual theory that the 10 lost tribes of Israel migrated there . or something about the rumours that the northmen discovered America.....i have often wondered if the vikings got there name from the six dukes on the statue in France about the time of William the Conqueror , who were called duc in france but all claimed they were rulers in their own country.......therefore making them ...in Roman numerals V1.Kings ??

    Thanks for the suggestions.

Im not going to dive into Oera Linda, unless I write something on 19th and 20th century use and understanding of history, since it is pretty much established to be a 19th c. hoax.

That Northmen "discovered" America around 1000 AD is pretty overwhelmingly established, and there will also be a bit about that if I make a blogpost on okamidos suggestion.

They didnt. The word has a presence in sources much earlier than William the Conqueror, and we have better suggestions for the etymological origin.
