The Indian Vedas are Hindu scripture.

From the Vedas we learn a practical art of surgery, medicine, music, house building under which mechanized art is included. They are encyclopedia of every aspect of life, culture, religion, science, ethics, law, cosmology and meteorology.

The Indian golden age was.....occasionally said to be that of the Gupta Empire of 320-550.

One King is said to have had "9 Jewels" (notable courtiers and scholars), among them Kalidasa (a notable poet and dramatist in the Sanskrit language). Kalidasas work was among the first Sanskirt poetry to be translated and reputed in the west, and thus known the western scholars like Goethe.
