The Yogi Cat of Mamallapuram

By Jim R. McClanahan

I love cats and so does most of the internet. They are the perfect mix of cuteness and ferocity, chubbiness and athleticism, laziness and boundless, fiery energy. Archaeological evidence suggests our feline overlords first self-domesticated themselves as far back as 10,000 years ago in Turkey. They are believed to have entered into a symbiotic relationship with farmers by hunting mice that endangered crops. DNA evidence...

Review of Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Posted December 26th, 2017 at 07:44 AM by Viperlord (Viperlord's History Blog)

I have written one long movie review before, for The Battle of the Five Armies, and prefaced it by stating I was an unabashed fanboy of Lord of the Rings, both Tolkien’s work and Peter Jackson’s adaptation. Article on Liam Lynch and his actions as IRA Chief of Staff during the immediate start of the Irish Civil War (third part of a series).

The Fog of Certainty: Liam Lynch and the Start of the Civil War, 1922 (Part III)

How the Pyramids were built

Posted December 18th, 2017 at 08:54 AM by Shotgunhistory

I am not a subscriber to the ancient aliens theory, at least not as it pertains to the Pyramids, but I dont dismiss people that have this view. To be honest I just think it is due to lack of information. You cant be angry with that. Anyway here is a video examining the Pyramids and the Old Kingdom, who built them. Looking back Sneferu seems to be someone that I would get on with. What do you think?
