Charlemagne versus the Cordoba Caliphate

Charlemagnes victory against the Cordoba Caliphate was impressive.

True, his grandfather won the battle of Tours; but that was a glorified defensive battle. Pepin the short was able to take Septimania (the south of France) because the Arabs were busy fighting the Berber revolts.


But Charlemagne won an actual offensive border dispute. I will thus analyze why. He may have had the help or rebels inside the Cordoba Caliphate.

Port Said is a famous port in Egypt.


Memphis, Egypt, saw it's decline and fall around the time of the Roman conquest/vassalization of Egypt.
