It is clear to me from reading Stephen Brookefield's 'The Power of Critical Theory for Adult Learning and Teaching' (2005) that modern Marxist theory is in especial need of a robust and pertinent model of subjective ontology if it is to satisfactorily explicate the relationship it insists exists between the repressive social structures produced by the deterritorializing encroachments of late capitalism and the subsequent generation of a false consciousness that blindly colludes in its own disempowerment....

'Marxism', in so far as that term refers to what the man actually wrote was an unstoppable success; he completely upended the accepted hierarchy of the day, laying the seeds for almost all of the advances in working rights, pay and entitlements we take for granted today.

I'd say the aristocracy were flabbergasted when they read 'Das Kapital', not merely the ideas, but the tone in which they were presented, it oozed a jaw-dropping self-assurance. All of this 'dictatorship of the proletariat'...

Free Trade: Crashing Down Barriers Marx-Style

Within Marx’s historical dialectic there is a predicted process of 'homogenization' driven by a bourgeoise revolutionary force whose deployment of capital in its internationalist aspect erases archaic barriers predicated on class, religion, tribal affinities and so forth. This movement of capital is conceived and best facilitated through a free trade environment; one that naturally eschews the various forms of protectionism which only, in the end, forestall the emergence of 'the necessary conditions'...
