Richard was born on 2nd of October 1452 at Fotheringhay Castle. He was the youngest surviving child of the Duchess Cicely and Richard Duke of York. The Duchess had twelve children in which seven children had survived infancy. His coming into the world was a very shaky one, as it was recorded just after he was born that ‘Richard liveth yet’ He was not as healthy as his older brothers and sisters and as a child he was smaller than most children...
