Original Prussians

Were the original Prussians a Baltic people, therefore most likely looked like the people of the Baltic States of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, right?

In my research, the original Prussians physical appearance would be that of the Tavastid type which is part of the greater East Baltid sub-racial phenotype of Eastern Europe.

The Tavastid is said to be commonest and most typical of in lands immediately east of the Baltic Sea in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Finland. It is also occurs frequently in Sweden and the rest of Scandinavia and northeastern regions of Germany and Poland all the way to Romania! There are occurances in Great Britain too, most likely linked to Viking invasions.
Anthropological characteristics are:
skin colour - fair
hair colour - blonde
eye colour - light
head - brachycephalic, large
Face - flat and relatively square, forehead is low, wide jaw
Body build - large.

They were good fighters. The Teutonic Knights took some 80 years to kill most of them and take their land in the 13th century. The Baltic region was last to be brought to the blessings of the Holy See in Europe.

Except for the blonde hair part, and also perhaps the fair skin, above descriptions also fairly match those for ancient Hittites, IIRC. Was just wondering, cud there possibly hv been a connection?

they were/are germanics. Most Germanics, even modern day Scandinavians, originate from central Europe. Modern Prussians and Germans at large originate in their current sense in the early/high medieval period. Just like the English, Dutch, Scandinavians, Flemish, Luxembourgish, Germans, Austrians, Swiss, and Icelandics.

They were cousins of Lithuanians and not Germans.

They were pagans and similar to Lithuanians, not Germanic. They were not mostly killed off. Germans became most of the elite. The Prussian language lasted until the 18th century.

It is sort of interesting that three of the major powers in Europe 150 years ago or so were Germanic speaking, but not most German ethnically, Prussia, Austria, and Great Britain.

Highly doubt it. Those stuff that he described apply to large parts of Europe. The only connection they would have to the Hittites would be that both were Indo-European Caucasoids.
