One of My New Heroes

Charles XII of Sweden. He was a great statesman, had a brilliant military mind, and was a highly moral person of deep faith. It's just a shame his life ended so tragically.

I think his life ended perfectly. He was shot by a Norwegian soldier when he tried to invade Norway

He was a crappy statesman otherwise he would not destroy Sweden as a power in Great northern war.

He was a psycho in my opinion.

Doesn’t seem particularly inspiring. Rather boring chap who doesn’t sound like he ever had an emotion. Talented soldier... but no Gustav Adolphus.

He has won decisive and overwhelming victories and with semi decent diplomacy he would gain benefits from defeated enemies and make a truce. I was reading that he insisted on deposing of defeated monarchs which was bad from a diplomatic view because these monarchs were always more eager to give some lands or reparations than their personal position.

Counterweighted by crushing, decisive defeats.
