Protestant Rerformation- A Schism that Tore Apart Europe for nearly two centuries!

Reign of Suleiman the Magnificent- Where would the Ottomans have been without him?

Eighty Year's War- Spain lost much of its power in the Netherlands and Northern Europe.

Ultimately not very important.


The Protestant Reformation did way more than merely split Europe. It was the first step in the slow decline in the power of religious institutions. It also created publics comprised of commoners for the first time. The effects of the Protestant Reformation are more strongly felt then the changing dynasties of any kingdom or empire.

I would basically agree with this in theory.But,in practice,Battle of Diu truly had a far-reaching consequences.Certainly one of the most decisive battles of 2nd millenium.
