I am looking for all sources of information both British and Germain relating to the above historical possibility. Documents, sources etc etc. This is research for a possible book and can in no way be construed as anti-german.
Looking forward to your replies
Jeffery

The British navy is still too powerful, the RAF now has more fighters than the Luftwaffe, and the 30+ divisions of the British Army now has sufficient stocks of armour and heavy equipment to repell any invasion the Germans could attempt to launch.

The historical record of this possible event/attempt never considers the potential reaction of the general populace.
It's nonsense, the British peoples would have never stood idly by while some foreign invaders trampled their grounds, not in 1940-41.
Just my opinion.

Just my opinion. | I heard that in 1940 when “the invasion” was a real possibility, one English publican said” I will never sell beer to German soldiers” Facing such determinate attitude of civil population, Germans drop the idea of invading Great Britain.

Do you really think "the invasion" was a serious threat ? I think not. But, refusing to sell beer to the German soldiers could have presented some difficulties.

We've discussed this extensively in other posts and so far no-one has been able to answer the question that at the time Operation Sealion was planned to take place Germany only possessed 2 landing ships.
Anyone care to try?
How can an invasion be possible with only 2 landing ships?

How can an invasion be possible with only 2 landing ships? | Two or three, or more Landing ships would not have been sufficient. Bertram Ramsay was accountable for protecting those shores.

How can an invasion be possible with only 2 landing ships? | Agreed. Though much has been made of the Germans gathering barges and lighters in rather large quantities, I cannot decide if it was a ruse to try and tie down as many British divisions to the home islands as possible, or a bonifide preparation in a real plan. If the latter is true, I can only imagine the German soldiers looking upon those barges and thinking, "DOH!"
