Maybe in your head and Antidyatel because you don't pay attention. We can not let this wrong data without a correction.

There were only 300.000 romanians entering the war to take back their land and 10.000 death for their total independence

So in fact Russia could go to Constantinopol before or after Romania entered the war?

no, is not a mess: is very logical for a romanian. we are in good will for a honest discution, while you are allways in alert, like trying to occlude with fingers a huge reservoir, after it was shooted with a machine gun

Calm down. I've already posted (#858): "Apologies. Should be more careful with numbers, in 1941 it was 300,000". My response was emotional and I didn't double check the number. Should have been more careful.

I had an impression that John Ericsson in his book "Road to Stalingrad" and "Road to Berlin" had talked about a 1,000,000 of Romanians participating in Eastern front battles. Don't have the books with me at the moment. SO cannot check. Maybe he referred to the total number that participated from 1941 till 1944. However, it doesn't change the point that Romanians were not just going to recover Bessarabia but they were engaged in crusade. Against "obscurantism and bigotry"

Economic effort of the country during the war for independence was approximately 100,000,000 gold. To this must be added the military effort. In military actions south of the Danube was attended by over 52,000 Romanian soldiers(12 300 horses and 190 guns), over 10,000 made the ultimate sacrifice in the grip of Plevna, Rahova, SmÔrdan, Tatargik, Belogradchik and Vidin.

Russia occupies the post of "compensation" in the southern counties of Bessarabia (Cahul, Ismail Bolgrad) that reintroduced within Moldova after the Crimean War by the Treaty of Paris in 1856. Prince Charles was deeply dissatisfied with the imposition of these concessions, which flagrantly contravened the Russo-Romanian treaty on April 4, 1877
This topic is unrelated to OP. And I've already suggested not to continue this topic in this thread. Apologies, again for causing this deviation.
Although it is tempting to know what the hell is 100,000,000 gold.

I think it is a good example of how adamant people can come if the numbers don't match to their perception of the word. It is really a very good example. But it really puzzles me why the same people accuse Russians of revisionism when we question 100 million victims of GULAG. Or 217,000 "publicly executed by SMERSH.

Honest discussion? How to get honest discussion when in order to prove their perception of Soviet Union people are using garbage historians like Conquest, Appelbaum or imagination of Soljenitsin about 69 million? Or Antonina's referral about 217,000 publicly executed by SMERSH. This garbage supposed to stay their unopposed. You tell me, after this exchange that we had in the last two pages of the thread. You could not keep silent when you felt that numbers are wrong, could you?

Nice metaphor about the fingers and reservoir. Falls under the preconditioned perception of the argument that I discussed above. But still nice.

It was not a crusade...in the same time Germany nazi ..our "ally" annexed North Ardeal. Romania war was only to recover and maintain her lands , ancient lands belonging to daco-romanians.. our only gold.

If Russia would had left that Basarabian land in peace..romance speakers, daco-roman in origin..Romania would have never enter the war along Nazy...we would had have the same faith like Poland.

* 100.000.000 lei gold.

You have to understand that out hate for communism it is because of Russia regime also, and all the bad she did in history to our people... and most important from all the russian just one admits the truth and says ..yes we did that..on this forum

For us the future can not have nothing do to with communism...even if this had some good parts.. I mean even caca has his own good things..example is when you put it on soil to have a better crop.

All of our history and why we are poor has a big connection(but not only) with communism promoted with force in Romania by Russia for 60 years.. but not only us..almost every ex-communist country including Russia. We are very poor economic than west..but most important people from the country that did all this wrong ..are ignorant... vote for a former kgb agent..and do not admit official the wrong done.

See Basarabia and heritage left there..people without identity , brainwashed, poor..with army of Russia there on their borders in Transnistria..a Transnsitria tat is a little soviet Russia..

When i see her people melancholic about communism..it makes me sick.

You can move all in Transnistria.

In MArch 1939 King CArol II signed the treaty with Germany, which resulted in the economic enslavement and political subjugation of Romania. So even without annexation of Bessarabia, you would participate in the was on Axis side. Not that you had much choice after Munich and "help" to Poland by France and Britain. Plus Molotov-Rebentropp agreement had to force you thinking and choosing your enemies quickly. YOur oil was crucial for Germany, so you had no chance really. But it helped to have such an enthusiast as Antonescu.

I'm sorry that occupation by Soviet Union has only brought negative parts to Romania. Although your impression of those negative parts seem to only in perspective that it could be better.

Plus don't forget that it was not Stalin's idea for the spheres of interest in Balkans. Churchill was adamant to ensure that Greece stays under British influence, so he traded in Romania without much hesitation. Me personally disapprove as Greek could be real friends and we let British to instal Fascist government there after the war. But Stalin made his choice and he had his own reasons. SO no need all those emotions and crying about how bad are Russians.

Look at the bright side. When Western powers capture other countries they bring them towards the stone age or definitely to the level much lower than theirs. When Russians capture some country we bring you closer to our level. Unfortunatelly to some countries that level might be lower

Look at Russia before the communists more sober and you might see that communists did good as well. Stop being ignorant.

Here comes the bigotry.

Maybe you should widen your horizon and actually go there and see for yourself. Accidentally had a chance to read the following last September:

Sorry Moldova, I Tried. I Really TriedMark Baker | Mark Baker

I haven't beam there. But I can feel sincerity in Mark's story
