I really don't think there should be a hockey team in Los Angeles in the first place. If it doesn't snow in your city, you don't deserve an NHL team.

Well, in Poland since the 14th century we had kings who were elected and treated as highest officials but elected for life. As said one of Polish 16th century politicians "We are the Republic under presidency of king".
So as such we considered them as officials who were better or worse able to fulfil their duties. And thats all, they were not "Dei gratia".

I personally have no problem with kings, as long as they lead with principle and fairness, I find them to be quite useful. The only problem with a lot of kings is that they abuse the power they are given and only use it to benefit themselves and their proteges.

These people had their time, and they were needed for societies to be kept under control, but that time has passed. Today democracy overrules the wishes of any one person. The idea of the monarch who should be obeyed because of whom his parents were just doesn't work any more.

Kings are okay... but aces are better.
