To my the choice a bit easier I picked the ten major powers of Europe:

- France
- UK
- Germany
- Russia
- Spain
- Italy
- the Netherlands
- Sweden
- Austria
- Belgium
PS: I know it's hard but please pick one of these eventhough you don't agree with the selection. Also don't pick your own country and if you have answers like I don't want to live under anyone else besides my own government then please don't post because this is a 'if' scenario.

THAT would depend entirely on how I was treated as member of a subjugated people.

I suspect most would be better than having the Americans impose their peculiar version of democracy.

In reality: I would probably try to leave or join the resistance and spend my time killing occupying soldiers. (I have always empathised with the Iraqis and Afghanis)

The only country which I'd be fine with taking us is Belarus, but I surely don't mean a sort of conflict between us.

As for the list given, having some ties with Germany/Italy would be fine, but only those ties which are being naturally developed, and no more than that.

And back to reality, it looks like governing elites everywhere nowadays in its own network anyways, so it's not up to our choice where the core of this network is.

Germany so long as they don't go nuts would be my first choice. I could probably manage the UK as well. Those are the only two countries I have any experience with from the list though.

If I wanted to stretch, I have liked the only three Russians I have met in person. That's probably not the best evidence to base the choice on though.

Italians. I think it wouldnt be bad occupation and myself I simply wouldnt have heart to kill such occupants. The second option would be the French, we were allies during Napoleonic wars and in fact they occupied Poland that time but it wasnt bad.

We can't even manage our own country without Flemish and Walloons trying to devour each other alive...

If I had to choose one country, it'd be the UK.
